Chase Freedom Unlimited Earns 5 Stars

The 1.5% flat-rate cash back rewards offered by the Chase Freedom Unlimited card is delightfully simple and better than the average cash back credit card. I strongly prefer flat-rate rewards to other card types such as rotating cash back credit cards for their simplicity.

Unlike other rewards credit cards, you don’t have to worry about what categories your spending falls into or needing to sign up every quarter to earn bonuses in specific categories when you use your Chase Freedom Unlimited card because everything you purchase with your card will earn you 1.5% cash back automatically.

Freedom Unlimited: Quick Summary Of Benefits

  • Redeem cash back with no minimums

We research and review hundreds of credit cards on FinancialSamurai.com and the Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card is on four of our our best credit card lists:

  • Best Cash Back Credit Cards
  • Best Balance Transfer Credit Cards
  • Best Credit Cards For Shopping Online
  • Best Credit Cards For Home Remodeling

The Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card also offers an introductory $150 bonus after you spend $500 in the first 3 months of opening an account. Plus you get an unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase you make using your card. I’ve been a client of Chase for over 10 years and am a big fan of their card offerings. Here are Freedom Unlimited’s best features:

3 Great Introductory Offers

1) Chase Freedom Unlimited is one of our favorite cards because you get an introductory 0% APR for the first 15 months. If you have any large purchases on the horizon, getting 15 months interest free is huge.

For example, I’ve been doing some home remodeling that required purchasing $50,000 in materials. Having a 15 month buffer with no interest is huge for those who need it.

2) In addition, if you currently have any existing high interest credit card debt, being able to do a balance transfer to the Chase Freedom Unlimited can offer a lot of savings and breathing room. Just be sure to pay your balance off in full before the introductory period (15 months) is over to avoid paying interest all over again.

If you aren’t sure what’s involved in a balance transfer, check out this helpful guide I wrote on how to do a 0% APR balance transfer. Use it to your advantage and save money.

3) The third great introductory offer that comes with the Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card is you can earn a $150 bonus just for spending $500 on your card within the first 3 months of opening an account.

This is a very generous offer that’s easy for most card holders to receive due to the low spending requirement. Most of the other popular rewards credit cards out there require $2000-$4000 in purchases to earn a sign on bonus.

Chase Freedom Unlimited

Awesome Automatic Cash Back

Chase is currently offering unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases you make using your Chase Freedom Unlimited card. That’s such an easy way to earn money back while you pay for groceries, gas up the car, pay for Netflix, buy new shoes etc. You name it, you earn it.

And you don’t have to just use your card to get cash back rewards. The Chase Freedom Unlimited card also generates points for travel, gift cards at popular retailers such as Home Depot and Amazon, and more.

Rewards also don’t expire as long as you keep your account open. And you can redeem your awards anytime without any minimums.

Excellent Cardholder Protections

As a cardholder, you also get access to Credit Journey which gives you unlimited access to your credit score. It’s free, even if you are not a Chase customer, and updates weekly. Checking your score does not affect your credit and helps you keep a close eye on your financial health.

Getting Zero Liability Protection means you won’t be held responsible for any unauthorized charges made with your card or account information. You also get the benefits of real-time fraud monitoring and fraud alerts. So you can shop online or at retailers worldwide without any stress!

The Chase Freedom Unlimited card also comes with Purchase Protection. This covers new purchases you make for 120 days against damage or theft. (Up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account, terms apply).

You can also enjoy Extended Warranty Protection, which extends the time period of products’ U.S. manufacturer’s warranty by an additional year, for eligible warranties of three years or less.

Even More Perks

Finally, there is no annual fee for the Chase Freedom Unlimited card. Got to love that. A lot of rewards cards charge annual fees around $95/year and some even charge 3-digit annual fees in the $450-550 range. Not to worry with Chase Freedom Unlimited!

The cards also comes with a Contactless feature that makes it super easy to just tap to pay at participating retailers.

Want to earn even more free rewards? As a Chase Freedom Unlimited cardmember, you can earn up to $500 cash back per year for referring friends ($100/friend) who get approved for their own card.

Customer Ratings

Roughly 10,000 Chase Freedom Unlimited cardmembers have rated this credit card 4.9 out of 5 stars. Financial Samurai and our trusted partner site Credit Ratings rate this card 5 out of 5 stars.
